Project Hail Mary Trailer: Ryan Gosling Wakes Up Alone in Space to Save Earth.

Amazon MGM Studios has released the first official trailer for Project Hail Mary Trailer, a thrilling new sci-fi film starring Ryan Gosling. Directed by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, the movie adapts the best-selling novel by Andy Weir, the author of The Martian.

In the film, Gosling portrays Ryland Grace, a middle school science teacher who wakes up alone on a mysterious spaceship. He has no memory of who he is, what he’s doing there, or how he got onboard. As he starts to piece together his situation, he discovers he’s the only survivor of a mission sent to save Earth from a catastrophic event.

But just when it seems like all hope is lost, Ryland makes an unexpected discovery: he’s not alone. A strange alien being is also in space on a similar mission to save its planet. The two must work together across the stars, forming an unlikely partnership that could change the fate of both worlds.

Big Cast, Big Story

Alongside Gosling, the cast includes Sandra Hüller as Eva Stratt, the tough mission commander, and Milana Vayntrub in a significant supporting role. Lionel Boyce and Ken Leung also appear in the film.

The script is by Drew Goddard, who adapted The Martian for the big screen. Greig Fraser, the Oscar-winning cinematographer behind Dune, handles the visuals, promising impressive imagery and epic space scenes.

Huge Expectations

At CinemaCon, Ryan Gosling described the film as “an insanely ambitious story, massive in scope.” He joked that it was so big, “we tried to put it on a TV once — it wouldn’t fit.”

The movie combines science, survival, mystery, and emotional depth while exploring the bond between two very different life forms trying to save their worlds.

Release Date

Project Hail Mary is set to arrive in theaters in the United States on March 20, 2026. Amazon MGM Studios will distribute the film, and Sony Pictures will manage the international release.
