Parenting Teenagers: “Get Out, Mom!”
Theron opened up about what it’s like to raise a teenager and a pre-teen, and any parent watching could instantly relate. She shared how her once-sweet 10-year-old daughter suddenly turned into a mini-teen overnight—complete with door slams and dramatic eye rolls.
“I walked into her room to say good morning and she just goes, ‘Ma! Why are you here?!’” Charlize recalled, laughing. “It was like she turned into a monster overnight.”
Jimmy chimed in with his own parenting stories, joking about how kids keep making up new slang that adults can’t keep up with. Words like rizz and “your face is eating” sparked laughs, as Charlize admitted even she didn’t know what some of these phrases meant anymore.
“Your makeup is eating down,” she explained, laughing, “And apparently, that’s a good thing!”

One of the best moments in the interview came when Jimmy brought up Charlize's backstage moment with Dua Lipa—a favorite of her daughter. Fallon excitedly of Charlize’s daughter doing a cartwheel backstage at a Dua Lipa concert, perfectly upside-down while making eye contact with her mom. "She’s upside down and looking at me like… this is the best day of her life," Charlize said, smiling.
The actress explained that she had been filming in Australia and brought her kids out for spring break—and attending a Dua Lipa show just happened to be the perfect family outing. She joked about trying to sneak Radiohead into the car playlist, but the kids weren’t having it.
“Why is nobody singing?” they asked. “It’s called instrumental!” I told them.”
Acting With Scorsese & Crushing Cameos
The audience also got to see Charlize’s hilarious one-line cameo in The Studio, a new comedy series featuring Martin Scorsese playing himself. She described being blown away when she found out Scorsese would be acting in the show, and praised his dedication—even crying during a dramatic scene.
“He was totally in it,” she said. “Like really upset in the scene. I was like… wow, he’s acting acting!”

“It took me three days just to write the text,” she laughed. “I didn’t want to sound like a creepy fan!”
The sequel sees Charlize’s character Andy no longer immortal, but thriving with her team as they continue to fight for humanity—until visions of another immortal bring danger back into their world.
